In exciting news, the Saskatchewan Office of Residential Tenancies (ORT), the department that provides information about renting for tenants and landlords, recently announced it has made almost 500 hearing decisions from the past three years freely available on CanLII. You can find these decisions online here.
This is good news for lawyers, landlords, and tenants alike. Previously, ORT hearing decisions were difficult to access as they could only be accessed in person at the ORT office. The ORT explained that the move was undertaken to ensure that the ORT remains transparent and accountable to the public and to help improve access to justice.
