National Building Code Resources – Tip of the Week

Posted on Updated on

By Alan Kilpatrick

Saskatchewan has adopted the National Building Code of Canada 2010 (NBC) as the core standard for building construction and renovation.  Specifically, the NBC addresses safety, health, accessibility, and structural soundness with regards to building construction.  The NBC is complimented by the National Fire Code of Canada 2010 (NFC).  Both the codes must be considered during construction.

You can learn more about the NBC and NFC in Saskatchewan here.

The NBC and NFC are not available online.  However, print copies can be found in the Law Society Library collection.

Additional information about building standards and licensing in Saskatchewan can be found online at Saskatchewan.ca.

If you have any questions, ask a Law Society Librarian! We are pleased to provide high-quality legal research services to Saskatchewan members in person, on the telephone, or by email.
