The Monday MadLibs contest has been a success! Thanks to everyone who sent us a submission this week, and in the previous six weeks. Your participation is appreciated, and we hope we’ve helped to brighten up your week a little with these puzzles. Here are this week’s picks in reverse order…

Holly, Jolly Christmas

Third Place goes to:

Have a saucy, sassy Christmas;
It’s the best time of the year.
I don’t know if there’ll be wine
but have a cup of glass!
Have a holly, jolly National Cupcake Day;
And when you mince down the street
Say Ahoy! to administrative professionals you know
and everyone you meet.

Oh ho
the cactus
hung where you can waltz;
Justin Beiber waits for you;
Smirk at him once for me.
Have a redundant, stagnant Christmas
and in case you didn’t hear
Bazinga!
Have a holly, jolly Star Wars Day this year.

The runner up is:

Have a distasteful, dippy Christmas;
It’s the best time of the year.
I don’t know if there’ll be hippies
but have a cup of hobbit!
Have a holly, jolly Chanukah;
And when you rotate down the street
Say Peace Out! to the Borg you know
and everyone you meet.

Oh ho
the artichoke
hung where you can swallow;
Arnold Schwartzenegger waits for you;
Hang him once for me.
Have a uppity, humourous Christmas
and in case you didn’t hear
Cowabunga!
Have a holly, jolly Christmas this year.

And voted Number 1 by our Library Staff:

Have a large, shiny Christmas;
It’s the best time of the year.
I don’t know if there’ll be lizards
but have a cup of tools!
Have a holly, jolly St. Patrick’s Day;
And when you devour down the street
Say What’s Up, Dog? to judges you know
and everyone you meet.

Oh ho
the marijuana
hung where you can skate;
Justin Trudeau waits for you;
punch him once for me.
Have a hairy, brown Christmas
and in case you didn’t hear
Sweet Jesus!
Have a holly, jolly Christmas this year.

Thanks again for all the silliness. The winner of the grand prize draw for the $50 Chapters gift certificate will be posted on Monday, December 21. Good luck to everyone whose entry has been selected in the past seven weeks!
