On Wednesday, January 21 from noon to 1:00 p.m., Joanne Colledge-Miller and Ann Marie Melvie will be presenting Fun with Citations – the Citation Guide for the Courts of Saskatchewan:

This is a (1.0) hour webinar being held on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. (Saskatchewan time).

You’ve likely heard there is a new publication called the Citation Guide for the Courts of Saskatchewan. Its purpose is to provide a standard set of citation rules for use in and by the Courts of Saskatchewan. All submissions from lawyers to Saskatchewan Courts must conform to this Guide.  We know the idea of spending an hour hearing and talking about citations may not be very exciting, but the authors of the Guide will endeavour to keep everyone awake, as they walk through the Guide‘s highlights. They’ll review:

  • The importance of the neutral citation.
  • When to refer to electronic databases.
  • The Guide’s hybrid approach to the use of periods.
  • Using simplified short forms.

The presenters of this webinar are the co-authors of the Guide, Joanne V. Colledge-Miller and Ann Marie Melvie. Ms. Colledge-Miller is an associate at MacPherson Leslie & Tyerman LLP, practicing in the areas of commercial litigation and class actions. Ms. Melvie is the Librarian at the Court of Appeal for Saskatchewan.

This webinar qualifies for one (1.0) CPD hour.

Online registration is now open.  Once you have completed the online registration form you are required to provide payment in advance of the webinar to the Law Society via cheque or credit card.  After payment has been made, your registration will be complete.
